Be smart with your current plastics
If you currently use plastics in your home, be sure to open your windows regularly to let the fresh air in to reduce the amount of toxins in your air. Off-gassed toxins are denser and fall lower to the floor where your little ones are. That’s why it’s wise to open your children’s bedroom windows for a few minutes before they go to bed every night.
When plastic is heated, toxins may be released. Never heat plastics. Avoid microwaving plastics and do not put plastic containers in the dishwasher. Also, never use toxic-laden plastics for hot or wet food storage, and plastic toys that may go into your child’s mouth.
